GOD-Fearing OR GOD-Loving ?

And now that my thought has been topping my mind every now and then, I am here on my blog, to let out my hypothesis on GOD. If you are a theist- Do read this post... and if you are an atheist, then you Definitely Read it [JUST FOR FUN ;) ].  I am no Baba ji giving you a discourse on GOD... But just a general wondering,

Are you a God Fearing Person OR a God Loving Person ?

When people say, "I am a God Fearing Person", what do they mean? They try to say that I fear god, therefore, I do not indulge in anything that is wrong as I have fear of getting punished by the almighty.

In short, The person believes in God, and has a fear of getting penalised for wrongdoing. Now, my Question is, Why! scared of God ? Why don't you say that You are a GOD-LOVING PERSON ? Why is it difficult to love him ?

Though, I have come across many people, who say that I am not scared of god...I love him. But, with that, I also see the chickenheartedness when they say that they are not afraid of God.

So, I come back to my question. Why is it so difficult to shed our Fear ?

Let me cite an example. A friend of mine, he visits temple everyday. Prays for about half an hour. That is his daily ritual. I asked him one day, What was the need to impress the God ? He got offended, though I did not mean to. He said, he did the ritual everyday because he couldn't afford to mess up his life. I did not know what he was trying to say. I asked him again. 

This time little more clearly, " why do you visit temple every day ? ".

He answered, " I do not want to upset the Almighty ".

I questioned him again, " And... Why do you think he would get upset ? ". 

He replied, " He would punish me if I don't offer my prayers and thank him. ".

I heard him through. Understood what he tried to say ! And just posed a question, " So you think, you cannot thank him while sitting on a couch of your drawing room, or you cannot pray to him without visiting temple. Can't you remember him while lying down on your bed ? "

All I wanted to tell him that do not visit temple out of fear. Visit out of love that you have for the almighty. If you believe in God, then my question is, when did god say, you cannot think about him while walking on road ? When did he say, you cannot remember him while exercising ?

Someone said:-

“Though we are incomplete, God loves us completely. Though we are imperfect, He loves us perfectly. Though we may feel lost and without compass, God's love encompasses us completely. ... He loves every one of us, even those who are flawed, rejected, awkward, sorrowful, or broken.” 

So, if he loves us so much, ignores are weaknesses. Then, in return, all we must give is love.

I tend to believe in God as a supreme energy that needs not to be feared. God loves and He doesn’t want us to be afraid. And if you live right, there’s no need to fear anything.
